Managed to get hold of a steering guard from a scrapped mark 1 XJ. 
It seems to line up nicely with bolt holes in my Mark 2 XJ, but of course I did not get any bolts to go with it.
Does anyone know what size the caputred bolts are?
Also where do I get them?

think it may be 3/8" from memory - not sure on thread  - 10mm is just too big??

M10's fitted fine on my rails, with 3 M8 nuts/bolts on the leading edge. They only need to be 15mm or so long, so most hardware/DIY places will have them.

10mm bolts fitted just - a bit tight, must be an equivilent American thread.
Steering guard now bolted on and ready to go.

The parts manual shows 'em as M10, probably rust causing the tightness.
