Is it practical to fit a LPG to a carb'd V8 myself & do insurance companies etc still demand certificates for the install?
As far as I know all it is is a tank, a filler & a few pipes/switch block leading to mixer plates under the carbs?

I fitted an LPG kit to my Mercedes myself.
Dead simple, most frightening part is cutting a hole in the bodywork for the filler!
Tank must be externally vented - easy
Then its simply connecting pipes and wires...
On a carby V8 you need a 3 position switchover switch
Petrol All Off LPG
Driving along on petrol switch to all off and drive until is splutters, then switch to gas...
depends on your insurance co.
Mine wanted one
Log LPG place said it would pass no problem after a glance over.
I sold it before I got round to having it done...

Should be an easy job for you if you buy a kit and start from new the fitting instructions will help. Get it tested by an LPG installer once done.
I fitted a mutipoint system to myV8 with good advice from the kit supplier and this forum, then had it tested by an LPG installer in Leeds who thought it had been professionally installed
Go for it.
