I know someone who is selling boards and mounts...

Mounts are bar/cage or flat panel fitting...

I haven't tried to fit waffles on my SJ yet, but may do like a friend did on a 90 and stack them on top the bonnet, they are a tight fit inside. He just used a pair of large pins sticking up out of the bonnet that went through the holes in the boards, the boards then locked on by padlocks when parked up and linch pins or R clips when off road.

I cut mine down a tiny bit and just had across the bed in the back between the wheel arches and tail gate, however I don't have that cover fitted for the fuel filler giving me a bit more space

Just ratchet strapped in using the 1" wide ones and a cut up old bicycle inner tube slipped over the strap to protect it.

Mine are up on my bonnet
Got 4 bits of long stud and spot welded some large washers on some nuts to hold them down.
Then when I don't need them just put nuts and short bolts in the holes as the stud sticking out on it's own looks a bit dodgey
