just bought a jeep cherokee 4.0 with lpg to remove and fit to my other cherokee. but when i went to put gas in it to make sure its working before removing it had a sight problem!not a standard filler has any 1 seen this before

This is a standard filler which will need an adapter screwing into the internal thread. The standard one in the UK is a bayonet fitting which can be bought from any LPG kit supplier for about £9.

that was the filler that became standard before they made the dutch bayonet filler standard adapters are available but adapters are frowned upon by the lpga cop11 so if it were my car id change the filler and do the job right first as last will cost a bit more but itll be right and there will be a lot less chance of leaks and cold burns from a proper filler.

Look in the driver's door pocket, its the usual hidey hole for the brass adaptor.
