Hi all
I'm new to the forum and to unimogs so I'll have a few questions to ask,But Ill start with this one when loading my new unimog 404 on to a low loader I found that the difflock was engaged and I canot disengage it any thoughts on what the problem may be,It had been standing for a good 5 months So it could just be gummed up?.
Cheers
Gary

you will probs find its the linkage thats siezed because they are actuated by a rod not a cable i would look there first (if you pop the connector of the difflock arm on the axle ) if its ok it should spring backwards to disengage if it wont then it could be a problem inside the diff(broken actuator arm or just the collor stuck on the shaft)
and then the fun starts Wink

I undone the linkage from the diffs today and the leavers move freely so its the linkaage at the leaver end.I'll try and free it up tommrow.

Had the reverse on my first 404. Wouldn't go in... That linkage is pretty straight forward to pull apart. Worth cleaning out the teeth and indents as well. Make sure that ball bearing is well lubricated too.

Got it sorted today,Turns out that the little bearing that locks in to the bottom of the leaver was gummed up so wouldn't depress so the leaver was stuck. Fist job done now on to the next.
