what truck you got? using bolt on parts or making your own? i've done my landcruiser rear axle making brackets and using calipers from a renault laguna, and shogun rear discs skimmed down to 12mm thickness

Oops it's a mk3 hilux on standard axles. I'll be making the brackets myself, just wanted to see some pics before I started or read a write up etc

could the vented discs off the front of a mk3 be used with mk3 calipers? i'm going to be ordering a transfer case handbrake on the weekend anyway.

Physically, I would think that vented disks would fit, provided the hub was machined down to suit [like I had to do - also on Mk3 axles]. As the pistons are the same size as the fronts I'm not sure if the master cylinder would still be big enough and you will also need to experiment with a brake blance adjuster to avoid rear end locking up too early. Sorry but can't offer more advice than that.

aniesigh, I will be doing a write up but need to get it finished or at least nearly complete. Currently its hidden under lots of stuff (single garage isn't really a good place to make a car!) Sad

Only thing I done on it this year is given it a new name - Project O.W.L. Over Weight (and) Late!

Ken
