Hi Guys,

The Freelander has developed a strange high pitch wine and seams to be leaking diesal around the injectors. Question, are the two related? The noise does not really change when throttle is pushed and changes to a higher pitch for a couple of seconds after the ingnition is switched off. It only starts to happen when the engine has warmed up.

Videos of the noise below

Really need this issue sorted before Friday as have a long drive to Download Festivil and dont fancy driving it like this.

Thanks for any help Smile

Turns out I had a couple of diesel leaks. One on a return pipe and a further smaller two on the metal pipes to the injector.

The whining noise was another pipe going to the turbo which I didn't locate.

With the New silicon turbo pipes and the EGR bypass and these problems sorted, can't wait to see how it drives!

Hopefully someone may find this helpfull if they have the same or similar issue? Smile

Thanks for letting us know mate! Often threads are left with no post to say the solution. This should help someone. Wink

I'v come accross a few of those before, it can be very fustrating!

Bit more info after collecting the car this morning.

Parts replaced

1x 8510322 Tube assy
4x LKJ101130L Gasket-Inl Manifold
4x LR006794 Injector Pipe

Steps the garage took

Removed engine cover
Cleaned Diesel around injectors
Road test - Found Leak from injector pipes and spillm pipe
Removed manifold and check for tightness
Found Vacume line to Vacume actuator split causing the whistling noise
Replace the parts above.

Hello friends, I know this is old. But I have a similar problem with fuel around my injectors on top. I removed the cover and ran it, at idle I see nothing. But I found that if I revv the engine up, it sprays a nice geyser of fuel right by the #1 injector base. (closest to the vehicles right side) Any suggestions?
