I went to lamancha on saturday, firstly my brakes packed in, or so i thought, maby its the master cylinder any way to tell??
Then my passenger side free wheeling hub snapped all the bolts that hold it in place..

Finally my toein eye ripped of the front of my sj.

Any ideas on how to fix the brakes and the free wheeling hub???
Thanks people,
Daryl

the other thing if your still on drum brakes the rear shoes wear out quite quick and give you really long travel sometimes to the point that you have to pump the brake pedal 2 or 3 times to get anything

unless you have run out of break fluid it will either have spat a front pad out or the rear shoes will be worn out, i dont no the place youve been to but when we go to tixover quary near peterborough a brand new set of rear shoes last about 4-5 hours then there had it, theres 2 cures i found 1 is drilling holes in the breaking surface of the drum so it pushes the mud and grit out the holes when you break, the other is to convert to discs

pull the hand brake up a bit and it that improves your brakes its the rear shoes, they may just need adjusting

glad you sorted the brake problem, as far as the free wheeling hub goes the bolts had prob shook loose you will have to try and drill up the middle of the bolts with a small drill and put an easy out in to pull them out, they or get another hub off another axle, As for the towing eye they were never over brilliant you really need to make some decent recovery points up as the std sj ones ent the best
