I've put some higher offset wheels on mine and with the wider stance it gives more leverage on the suspension and the ride is definately softer so I would have thought you would notice a difference

It is much better with the spacers on. Before the inner tread on the KL71's used to touch the shocks and sounded like a lolly pop stick in your bike spokes and rubbed the paint off my shocks. Now with the spacers it is just about perfect with full articulation. It doesn't touch in arch lip and just misses the shocks. The tyres are just touching the inner upper arches at the back though when it bounces on the bump stops. Lift kit here I come....

Yeah i saw the tyres had made a mess of your shocks. You thinking of getting some bigger tyres when you have your body lift fitted?

I think I will stick with the 31's for at least until they have worn out. Even if I lift it 2" (more likely to go 1.5") I will have the same problem with 33's plus I am guessing they will touch the front and back of the arches and the front bumper.

Before spending £400+ on tyres I would rather have a winch bumper and winch. Wink

to be fair looking at your videos you've proved the trak is more than capable enough with just 31s on and its still good for towing etc etc. know what your saying about the cost though. the price of just 4 33" tyres is about the same as 4 31s and rims.

I have been doing some wiring work under the bonnet to sort out the auxiliary stuff such as spot lights, reversing lights, amber lights, roof lights & CB radio. This is how it looked:

This is the 6 way fuse box I started wiring up:

It is now finished but I haven't got any photos yet as Daihard is away getting a lick of underseal. Wink

A few photos of the fuse box. Not exactly the neatest wiring in the world but better than it was:

Just picked Daihard up after having a fresh lick of Underseal.

Mmmmm Underseal:

LONG day. lol

Set off this morning at 8am on my road trip to BloodRedOffroad and just got back home at about 10:30pm! 300 mile round trip which I managed on a single tank of fuel! That is a record for me.

I now have a 2" body lift and have had a good day with a good crack, met Crispy Duck and Joey. The body lift too much longer than expected so we didn't have enough time to do the cam belt but the body lift is a top job with spacers lifting the rear bumper and brackets re-welded on the front to keep bumpers positioned as they were originally.

The transfer box lever if pretty close but I have some box section to make some adjustments if required but I think it will be ok.

I chopped the bottom half off the fan cowling so the fan blades don't catch but put the top half back on to keep it looking neat from the top and attach the air intake to.

There was a lot of scrap left over and I am glad I bought the full kit from Dave as just the spacers on their own would have been no use at all as the original bolts and sleeves could not have been re-used.

Scrap:

Old:

New:

Welded front bumper to lift it 2":

Front drivers side ready for a spacer:

Passenger side jacked up ready:

Passenger side front with the spacer in:

Dave cutting out the old fixings as they were rusted solid and not willing to budge:

Some asylum seeker who was hiding in the back!:

Passenger side middle spacer fitted with new sleeve and bolt:

The first spacer fitted:

Front bumper off to gain access to the front body mounts:

[/img]

Oh and I took the ARB off the front whilst I had good access to it! Cool

I must apologise to Dave for taking up his whole day so he is having to spend the night working on his own Trak ready for the weekend. Still soldering on and its almost midnight! Crying or Very sad

Nice to finally meet you. I was on mi way back from cheshire n I thought i'd give dave a ring to see if I could pop over n he said you wa nearly ready for going so I put my foot down and did the speed limit for 5 junctions up m62, I didn't do 95 all the way at all Liar Liar . I wanted to see what daihard looked like. It's tidyer than I thought and is deffinately 1 of the better ones. It is very high with the lift plus it's got to gain about an inch or so with the tyres. If you want that load liner n dog guard you can have em it just means you would have to do a 370 mile round trip to collect it as I can't get it in my truck cos of the seats.

I did a 240 mile round trip today, never missed a beat, the only funny noise were some questionable songs on my iPhone and I did it on just over half a tank. I was really pleased with her, that's the most miles I've done in 1 go so far with her. I'm guessing you didn't have any problems either mark. Mi brothers 2 year old transit van managed to do 150 miles of his 180 mile round trip and he heard a whining that turned out to be his turbo packing in. Good old fourtraks

Do you use the dogs for working or are they just pets. We used to have airedale terriers, lakelands, wirefox, Irish, welsh and border terriers. My dad used to show them but when he died we couldn't look after them all so we got rid of most of them.

Yes i was hoping for some side on before and after pics aswell Sad Daves kits look to be good quality and i don't think it is wise to skimp on things that hold your vehicle together. I think i am going to visit him for the same job on my Trak, but i'll take a fleece with me this time. Daves workshop is the coldest in England as i found out when he fitted a fuel tank for me a few months ago. Very Happy

My Terriers are just for pets.

Sorry for the lack of before and after photos. I can assure you it now looks 2" higher though and I will have some more photos taken soon. I was running about 5 hours late yesterday so never got round to taking any.

300 miles yesterday and another 150 today and about 300 tomorrow and then another 100 on Monday. Good old Fourtrak! And it covered 100,000 miles today! I even sung it a little song in hope that it would start at the petrol station!

And the rear brake light that wasn't working yesterday is working today. I think it must have just wanted a rest!

I fitted the Mud Tyres today ready for Tong tomorrow in a thunderstorm and downpour on the drive. Drowned rat springs to mind!

he's a Yorkshireman so he's tight. He's that tight that he didn't want to buy a windscreen for his fourtrak so it would pass mot, instead he booted the windscreen out n now it's got an mot and due to a rather foolish statement I made, I now have to show my rear

750 miles since Friday including a day at Parkwood and all it asked for was a few gallons of fuel. Razz Ground clearance is still an issue and I got stuck a few times grounding out in the middle but there was always another willing Fourtrak to help me out. Laughing

well the tenant in my rented house is late with his payment this month so we got in touch to aks them if there was a problem and he has just gave me a months notice that they are moving out. That is going to make me £550 worse off a month unless I can find a tenant within a month so there will be a lot less Fourtrak modyfying for the moment! Shocked

Unless anyone wants to rent a house in Carlisle? It has a detatched garage, drive big enough for 3 cars and a car port! They are the important bits. lol Laughing
