Yeah you can see how much better it will work. It's freed everything off if that makes sence. On with the rear now.

bit of an update, iv been fitting it in between farming so its taking a while, nearly there though

Embarassed

think i was on with the front axel last time i posted so heres a few pics

rose jointed steering, i double sheer for strength
nice and strong, used disimilar rods to make the bracket and i turned some missalignment spacers out of stainless for them.

there was no room to move it upwards btw
i then fitted my pahard rod and bump stops (rockwatt said to do the bump stops like his) easiest way 2 Laughing

panhard and steering in

i had to mount my shocks on to my lower links, i had debated alot about this and this was the only place they would fit

shall we have a flex????

yes please

everything fits and works perfectly. im chuffed to bits with how the frotns turned out
turning the lower link bushes in like i have means theres next to 0 movement in the creeper joints, so potentially if i didnt have limiting factors there would be alot more travel available.

front axel all welded up

th rear is alot further on, iv done this in revers order

(its late) Wink

no pics of making it as such but heres one of the axel

panhard rod bracket

i have primered the chassis and painted all my links on the rear.
the yellow is to match the rizla

my spray booth

all on and fitted
rockwatt made me some rear disc conversion bracekts for some punto calipers, iv used shogun discs which just had to be drilled out slightly. my shaft needed turning down to fit the discs. antoher job i can thank him for

thats morealess where im at now

this weeks todo list is paint the frotn axel rebuild and fit. prop shafts then, fuel lines and rad hoses + a tube front end and i can take it for a test run

Cool

Cheers dude, Lol I'm moving house in 3 weeks so I need to get alot done for then! Fuel lines, brake lines, rad hoses, props, front cage and it's done. Not much but I need weekdays of to get pipe fittings pressed etc Crying or Very sad

I need a question answering, if I'm running bigger breaks up front and a rear disc conversion on the "rear" Rolling Eyes lol do I need a bigger master cylinder? / will I get better breaking with one?

If so what master cylinder could I use?

And does anyone know where you can get knuckle studs and cone washers from in the uk? I need 1 Sad

is that hilux axles front and back? if so pm me your address and i'll send you some studs and washers i have some in the spares shed.

as for the brake master cyclinder, i've just done a rear disc conversion on mine and the standard hilux master cyclinder is 1/2" so it's advised you change to a surf 1" cyclinder, so if you can find one (ebay second hand £25) get one and you'll notice a big difference.

There lj70 axles, there going to be different sizes I think? There are 2 studs that are bigger then the rest and it's one of those I need. Il get the size today though.
Il do that with the master cylinder then. It was 1" I was looking at but only onces I'd seen were on say trail gears web site.

Cheers dude

The wheels stand it much taller then I first thought, but it's got the clearance I wanted. It's well balanced and stands well. Everything's in proportion now. + it will settle down about 1-2"
