firstly i would have a go on the spell check

hi, i love rear steer, but would thought an sj to be short enough!!!
the only prob i see are another set of cv's, fitting it would be easy from memory the pumpkin is drivers side front and passenger rear, so front axel will spin round to fit rear

It seems like the front steers you in a straight line and back tries to steer itself in a bad fippin' way Laughing
So it will need to be very strong in the steering links to keep the rear axel pointing ahead under acceleration. And the axel inards will need to be as strong as the existing rear axel, even on full lock.
If you can park forward into a ditch, turn the wheels on full lock and give it the full beans backward, then that's the front axel you want on the back Very Happy

One trick is to only steer the rear half way, so the CV's are never fully stressed.
Go for it. It'll be a laugh, and you can say you've done it Razz

hi lamby, i did a rear steer rangy and it is every bit as much fun as i hoped, it runs totaly standard internals and 32inch tyres and has not broken, yet . idris is spot on that the cv's seem to let go when on lock and as your wheel base is short you may not need full lock on the back. cutting the axle is straight forward, i found a bit of 7" box to use as a jig , just to keep things square and true. talking of wheel base would there be any gain in making it a little longer to get fore and aft stability as the rearsteer will give you a super short turning circle. realy hope you have go at this and look forward to some pics. fred
