After a kind young man did this to my Y2k TD5 90

I have done this

and will end up with something a little like this

It heads down to Wales for Malcolm and Redline Mike to work some magic on and should be back at the end of February. I'm going for almost every option within the standard 93" wheelbase.

Now that's what I call disaster recovery...

So you will end up with a repaired house, new landy, a new trailer and a new trial LR to sit on it Very Happy

Indeed, Mr F Line. Order placed, delivery next week hopefully. How quickly can you get it done by? End of Jan?

I have not yet decided if I'm going to IVA it.

It was the cleanest and simplest option. It is actually cheaper and easier to do this than procure another 90 body, fit it and then fit a roll cage!

I'll be losing some practicality but with a little ingenuity it should be fine.

So let me get this right. You're handing over what remains of your 90 and a big cheque to someone to build you a buggy - not really a custom build in the true sense is it? Twisted Evil

Hmmm, not my style to be honest.

I think Mr Dover is too cool, calm and collected to get wound up...

Saying that I have seen him slightly wound up, he just spoke quicker and the big words were still there.....

Sorry to disabuse you Bert, but I am just as easy to wind up as anyone else but you do need to know which buttons to press.

in an attempt to keep this even slightly on topic

The plan is as follows:
To get the now stripped carcass of a TD5 90 sent down to Wales for Malcolm and Mike to get busy and fit one of their fine spaceframes to the chassis.

For the purists here I am sure everyone will agree that for competition use, a professionally designed and constructed rollcage is a very good idea and it seems daft not to go the whole hog and get Whitbread's to build the whole body given they are very reasonably priced and by ordering it now I save 20% (Malcolm goes vat reg'd in January).

Once I get it back then the fun starts with planning winches, mechanical upgrades, repairs and kitting out the dash etc etc. That, as with the several other projects I've done will be cocked up personally.

Just don't expect frequent updates.

I think I speak for everyone, when I say that weekly updates are vital, even if nothing happened Wink

If its a bulkhead rad, are you going to get them to chuck that in as well, as I bet he has the right pipe work Very Happy

The bulkhead rad installation is part of the deal.

Until I get it back the weekly update will have to be either on the Garage/fence build or fettling the Alldays.

Indeed it has.
Call from from Mr Redline this morning "How do you unbolt the mecklock from the bulkhead?", "umm, use a spanner!". Inspiring.

Actually, it is inspiring. Here's a team that is getting stuck in but taking enough care to make sure recoverable parts are not damaged in the process.

The plan is still to head Sarf and West to see the WOR competition in March and collect UNB at the same time. It'll be great to see how everyone else has finished off theirs.

Cheers Bigears ... sorry, Bigbuggy.
