hi my disco 300tdi auto takes a long time to start if sat for any length of time
it takes about 2 minutes to start sometimes longer any ideas

Have you got a fuel leak/fuel bleeding back to the tank?
Edit: Could also be faulty glow plug(s).

what would cause run back
will try a set of glow plugs

air leaking in ,, my guess is the fuel pipes on the tank.

I suppose you could leave it for as long as you can, then while cranking crack off an injector, if you've got diesel there right away then you can rule out bleed back.
Might be worth testing your glow plugs before you buy some new ones too.
