Hi, i currently have a Land Rover 90. D reg. I am buying a new galvanised chassis. I currently have a 300 tdi Disco which has rusted out. I'm planning on putting the 300 engine into the 90. Can anyone please give me a list of the modifications needed, i.e which gearbox, wiring looms, prop shafts etc. Many thanks.

Hi, i am sure that others will help with the mechanical bits.
Have you spoken with the Chassis builder/manufacturer/supplier about having the chassis done ready for the 300tdi mounts before galvanising
& if they can supply you with the reciept for a replacement 'like for like chassis'.
Best get everything done so that there is no grinding & rewelding needing done after galvanised IMO.
www.richardschassis.co.uk
even if not getting from them, theres the
handy link at the bottom of the page for the DVLA,
which is obviously no problem when its a new chassis & the reciept available for getting your
new chassis number.
Just a case of letting the DVLA know the new engine numbers & getting a MOT.

As george said above, get a chassis for a 300TDi.... You'll need to tell them what box yer putting in...
You'll need more bits than ye think... The origional loom, i take it you have a TD or N/A, will work the 300TDi engine.... The enigine will go onto the LT77 you have, think there new holes to be drilled round the bell housing...(2 IIRC)
I'm sure the gearbox sits in the same place/mounts so the shafts shouldn't be an issue. if ye have the Disco as a doner you'll be able to use most of the pipes etc. A "conversion" downpipe for the exhaust is available, that'll save ye some time or if fab work is not yer strong point...
I'm sure there will be more.....
Bertie.

The gear stick's further forwards in the disco and the top of the gearbox is different with different selectors etc. I think it hits the bulkhead. I've not done this particular conversion myself but I think you might want to check this out as well.
