Can someone thats actually run one for a while please give me an idea
of the MPG i could expect to achieve with a
1998
110,000 mile
Mitshubishi Shogun 2.8 GLS TD automatic box, 5 door
on Dual carriageway runs without any load
& not booting it,
just toodeling along listening to the Fureys & Davie Arthur,
standard size BFG A/T's fitted.

Googled the various claims but just wondering about what someone
has got in the real world.

Possibly about to buy it for a winter daily drive,
it runs well, is original & looked after with dealer service stamps.
Cant get a chance to try it out for a decent test drive tho.

any help appreciated.
If its really cr4p, please say.
thanks
george

my 2.5td manual swb shogun used to get about 18mpg! not exactly the same model i know but as a rough idea, it was terrible hence i got rid!
heard the 2.8's are better but preassumably the extra weight of the lwb and the auto gearbox will counteract that and bring it back down to roughly what i got?

Normal driving (45-60mph) between 22-25
Towing (3ton @ 45mph) around 12
Not letting the engine exceed 2000rpm (regardless of road conditions) 33mpg

Cheers for that Guys,
Lots of conflicting figures on the caravaning sites.

Decided to spend a bit more & taking an X-Trail auto thats LPG converted.
Towing or offroad use wasnt a requirement this winter.
