i had a bit of a eureka moment last night thinking about after my weldings been done
but i don't really know whats about... i'll explain.

i've got some welding to do on my sj and was thinking about possible finishes after its been done. i considered just paint, carpet, metal covers and even a huge full fit rubber floor mat to protect it but then my manager said he once had a viva that was painted in liquid lino!

he reckoned that there wasn't a inch of rust in the 10years he owned it, he DID say it looked poop tho.

SO... is there anything now days thats more suitable? only looking to do the inside but if the finish is good might do the outside too.

any ideas fellas?

Use brushable seam sealant, best thing since sliced bread but not quite as good in the toaster.

I use U-Pol greystripe

After I welded my floor up I primered it, then used a £9.99 tin of flat roof paint called liquid rubber. I put two coats on, which means it is about 1/8" thick. Voila! One hose out interior.

I laid a rubber floor, managed to get hold of a roll of that rubber sand blaster use as a curtain, very very tough.

Crude but effective, about 1/4" thick so has some sound deadening properties.

No more wet dog mouldy carpet smell for this greenlaner Laughing

We use stuff called Flexane at work for various applications. Not sure on price or suppliers - I just call it up on my drawings! I think FL-70 is the "slowest" drying (one version cures in something daft like six minutes!)

I do waterproofing for a living and i have used a product called Copon with is a 2 part polyurethane paint which has excellent waterproofing properties. Just google copon and you should find it. The other company that makes similar stuff is Aqualine . Its not cheap but its good

Use it on our ships. Marine paint if you can get hold of it from someone on the side as it's a bit expensive. but bloody good.
