need some advice as which direction to go with my vitara
its almost standard at the moment
first mod I have done is junk the standard tyres and I have bought some kingpin mud tyres
next I am getting hoses and pipes to make a snorkel
I want to next look at getting the car higher as it grounds out a lot. Am I best doing a body lift first or a suspension lift? or is there anything else I should consider doing to the standard car before the body/suspension. Do I need axle dropping kits too? Sorry if all this sounds silly but I am new to all this so want to do it right first time.

body lift wont stop you grounding out but will allow you to fit bigger tyres,go for a suspension lift as this lifts up the chassis but you will still get stuck on your diffs, the only way to get the diffs out of the mud is with bigger tyres, you can get away with a 2"lift without drop plates but you need to take care or fit them and still take care.
my old lwb vit had a 70mm body lift,1 3/4" suspension block lift,10" travel rear shocks and 235/75/15 kumho kl71 tyres.
that would still belly on humps and get stuck in ruts

The front axel/diff dropping kit to go with the lift kit looked very neat on the vit I was running with the other month. And made it a lot more capable than my mates standard vit.

i will second checking out dave at bitz4vits he can help you out not only with the stuff you need but sound advise too.
i lifted my old vit with gv springs and b4v spring spacers that let me fit on 215 80 15s AT tyres with no trimming gives you a bit more room than a standard vit
if your fitting a snorkel for wading dont forget to extend the diff and gearbox breathers up out of harms way too

Not a bad deal, as I had my eye on those !!!!!
Well done on your purchase though and make the vit look proud.
I have loads of breakers near me, so will have a wander around soon for GV springs etc
