i have just located a TD5 110 with high miles.... might be interested in buying it but slightly worried about high miles (160k+ on a 1999 model) all seems well maintained though.... do i need to worry, otherwise seems spot on.

My mate has just bought one with 150K on it. Pulls well and seems solid.
Would be intersted in the opinions of others. I know of 300Tdis with 300K and going strong as long as they are maintained. How to Td5s compare?

A TD5 will give similar to a 300/200 Tdi in respect of high mileage but remember to change oil & filter every 6000 miles.

Tend to agree-my opinion with high milers if they not broke at 150 they must be good!

My ex-gf drives one with 360+ on clock, been in family few years.
Runs well, been on good maintance. Only thing is the autobox gives messages sometimes of hi km's but still works like it should.
I believe we try to keep it until half a million or so.
Let see if the chassis is still in there... or back door
TD5 will last i know.

360,000 km is around 240,000 miles.
If its an early Disco Td5,
then an average 24,000 miles per year,
That must of run up some fuel bill & have some service record.
I am often inclined with huge/high miles on not so old vehicles, to think that the mileometer has gone faulty & jumped 100,000 or that someone messed up when clocking it,
rather than to believe how far its driven.
unless there are 40 odd oil & filter change reciepts, & at least a couple of belt changes that relate to the vehicle.

Your right but its not that easy with a td5 as the milage is stored in the BCU and in the dash binacle itself, When you put the ignition on the the two are compared and if they dont match the milage will continualy flash showing there is a mismatch.
There are ways around it but its not as simple as some to clock

my brother has a 110 Hicap TD5 on 180k. The engine is fine. It's the rest of it around its that not.
As with all Landrovers its not the mileage, it's the condition that you need to look at.
