Well for those of you that are interested it was a little test day on saturday that went very well. The motor worked better than I could of imagined.

This is a link to the youtube page of a mate that was videoing not the best videos but you see some footage. Turn your speakers up for the sound it makes, sadly there as always with off road videos there are people chatting away that forget the camera is on so sorry for some of the colourful northen language lol.

Enjoy

Well first outing at Kirton was a fairy tale ending to the build really going out and winning against some pretty good established cars. Sadly in an attempt to tweak the suspension and gearing we dramatically hindered our chances at wales. We were still holding our own until an unfortunate turn of events ended our campaign. We dropped into a river crossing and I got hung up on a rock on the way out. So out came the winch, 2 mins later I had pulled a tree onto the car. DOH! Not to worry we moved the tree and re rigged to a sturdier shrub. Winch pulled me about 6" then stopped bloody working. This resulted in no choice but to cut the rope. So I resorted to some old fashion abuse and got the car out of the situation. As I travelled round the corner to be me by a slippery staircase of river bed rocks, I lost my cool and buried the throttle only thinking of my lack of winch. This resulted to me shearing the rear output from the t/case. Then to rub salt in the wound I realised the only issue with the winch was that the old mechanical free spool lever had popped out.

So we have come away with some good experience and shall have the car right for next time.

Well done anyway, great achievement I'm sure there will be more sucesses to follow. Out of interest, what's the plan with the T box? Rebuild as standard and go steady on the right foot or strengthen the shaft? I guess that may move the weakest link to elsewhere though. Always difficult to solve this problem with an immense amount of torque, large diameter wheels and a fair amount of weight to move around.

Think this thread deserves to be back at the top given your amazing result at KOV last weekend! Well done, sounded very refined, and was great to watch. Nick

thank you for your kind words the car was fantastic and did not miss a beat all week end, did some pretty impressive giant slaying too. Shame about our miss hap with loosing the wheel, as we would have been fighting for a podium spot with out that time we lost. Still we turned up with one intention and that was to finish every lap, and that we did.

Was chatting to you briefly just after you lost that wheel. How's the LT230 transfer box holding up? Interested to know as my build also uses one of those.
