So how have you done that then? I would like to know as a freind of mine is building a vitara on 39's this would be ideal for him.
I do have the measurement written somewhere. Ill have a root. The twin t/cases only adds 6" you know

using an adapter from the hilux case to the vitara gearbox obvoiusly taking the vitara transfer case off first. oh and its a 2.0 v6 box & flywheel im using fitted to the 2.5 motor. reason being the 2.0 and 1.6 box share the same dimensions and theres plenty of them and they are cheep unlike the 2.5 box which is bigger heavy and expensive. i will take some pics and post them up, if i change for ratio reasons it will be availabe for sale with twin sticks aswell.

i had it made for me, the 2.5 is really cool it got good low down power and it revs well at about 5ooorpm it really comes on cam and pulls like **** all the way upto 7000 !!!!!!! its light compact it handles water pretty well, cant fault it. but id say its got to be on the stick. (manuel)

the 2.0 v6 bellhousing and gearbox fit the 2.5v6 and the 1.6 gearbox fits the 2.0 bellhousing which in turn fit the 2.5 also. the 1.6 bellhousing uses a clutch cable whilst the 2.0v6 is hydraulic and works perfect.

So he needs the box from a 2.0 v6 manual? Are they rare I thought most were auto
I think he would prefer the hilux as it would be stronger and shorter.

well, its what ive used, i bought a complete manuel swb 2.0v6 for £250 and another spare 2.0v6 gearbox for £80 off the bay. there are plenty about and there normally cheep better buy a complete car and break it to get your money back the 2.0 flywheel is smaller and lighter ive used one and a standard clutch is more than up to the job.

Well to be honest I bought a wrangler and threw lots of money and time at that so progress is not vast.
I do need to get the camera out and update this thread though.

Went down and saw the build today, sure is bigger in real life! The tyres are huge, liking the possible plans for the bodywork too!

Sorry for the lack of updates on this build. I assure you all its still on the go and has not been forgotten. I will be competing at the king of valleys qualifier at kriton in June. It's really taking shape now and I'm getting very excited. Here is a picture of it on its return journey from having the stainless exhaust and rear radiator lines. Sounds awesome now. I shall get round to filling the missing gaps in on details.
