Thought I would share a photo of the new "Fast Axle" hub gears I had made. Gives a final axle ratio of 6.06/1 with a standard R&P. I have two extra sets left for sale if anyone is interested. With the fuel pump turned up and 14.5 tires guys are reporting top speeds of close to 70MPH! Not that you want to go that fast, but it will lower your RPM's and give you better fuel mileage! Price is only $2375 U.S. for a set, while Mercedes wants close to $4k for a set.

looks very nice i take its for the 406 onwards
are these a different ratio to the u1300 axel (cos it might be cheeper just buying a set of fast axels off a 1300)especialy in this country where the shipping/import duty would add quite alot to the cost of just the gears
its good to have the option of upgraded parts for the mogs Wink

These are for the 406-416's and a few of the early SBU's that have the same type of hub gears. Most SBU's have the later style. It might not make much sense to send these to England, as you have so many parts over there. But I have sold a set to someone in Belgium, and in Spain., plus Four sets here in the states.

i wasnt having ago at your product and agree there must be a market out there for mog owners that need a little more speed(say for a camper)
thats why i asked if these was any different than the u1300 "fast axel"
gears
and i dont doubt you will have sales (but wouldnt it be stupid if you had a u1300 camper and waist your money on these gears if they are allready inthere in the first place)
and thats the reason i asked

I'm pretty sure that the fast axles found in the 6 bolt 1300l series are geared in the ring/pinion and not the portal. These would add to the taller gearing.
When was the last time you came across a set of 1300l fast ratio axles for sale?

take what vons just said
[Price is only $2375 U.S. for a set, while Mercedes wants close to $4k for a set.]
would they be on the r&p if merc sell the gears for4k and if so would that make my question even more important(having a extra fast axel if you add a set of vons gears to a fast axel)

i only asked if they was the same as used in the fast u1300 axel[/quote]

you are indeed right normal bloke the fast bit in the axels are indeed the crownwheel and pinion
(just checked with accinson vos)
so if vons gear will go in you will have a set off very fast axels

No worries,I wasn't be argumentative!I thought I read it somewhere back a while on Benzworld but wasn't 100% sure. The Moggers over in the US seem to lust after any higher speed, understandeable given their vast distances!
It would indeed make a set of very fast axles, add onto all that a Claas o/d unit and you'd be roaring along. Then you'd just need the bhp to move it along at that rate!!.I suspect portal oil temps would become a limiting factor at some point.

What's the latest in your Mog world??
