Hey Guys,
please forgive what may seem as wanton destruction of german engineering lol but.......
I may be able to get my mitts on a g wagon with lockers front and rear (body has terminal tin worm), and am wondering if the axles would look horrendously out of place under my SJ ???
I know they are heavy and at the mo , i have a 1.6 driving the sammy which may or may not power the axles ( opinions guys please on this point )but am also considering a build using an SJ chassis and g wagon engine, running gear and axles then drop a small SJ body over the top ???
again thoughts ???
thanks guys, apprecieted.

If you have the bits and can make them fit together go for it!

A friend of mine has put a sj shell on a 280 G wagen chassis, it worked out great, the sj shell is a hell of a lot lighter than a G shell, so the vehicle now has a very low COG.
A whole lot easier than putting G axles and drive train on a sj chassis.
three link it front and rear while your at it by chopping the ends off the G's front and rear radius arms c/w the outer bush and install a single upper link front and rear, some longer shocks and it will flex very well for very little cash and work!

im sure i read somewhere that a cirtain model the front axel rotates in the oposite direction to every other front axel so just check it will save you the imbarasment of both axels trying to drive against each other

460 G's fronts counter rotate, this was be because they have a synchromesh tc giving the ability to go from lo to hi or hi to lo on the fly

Or, remove G wagon body, and leave bulkhead. Then fit full roll cage and fill in the gaps Then you still have a zuke left over to use in the mean time!
This is assuming you want a full non-road offroader? But looking at the tracker, you don't need many bits to make it road legal
Much better donor than the brummy dinosour below
