i was wondering whats the regs on pick conversions do u have to notify the the dvla or not as i considering doing a pick conversion on my vitara as i gotta respray the whole car anyway and always loved the look of pickuped vitaras and it would save me the expense of a new softtop as i got all the metal and parts to do it already i think im getting to in to this modding stuff only ment to take mine off the road and do a lift and head gastet while im banned now its a full on project lol

i think you would only have to tell them that you changed colour. it might have to be checked over by a mot guy but i could be wrong

providing you don't touch the chassis you won't need sva, vosa or dvla approval. However you will need to tell dvla (v5) and the insurance company that you have turned it from a 5 seater to a 2 seater.
You don't need to tell them why or how though.
