The competition lives on in Brickwoods but is not as resources and limited training time means that the walls and chasms have gone. Our gun and limber should arrive in the next few weeks as Naples will be the only multinational team entering (our 4th year).

i was there for the gun run
our tug of war team used to get invited every year to compete
the gun run and tug of war were the only two events to have been held at the royal tournament every year from the start
two incedents about the gun run stick in my head
on one of the qualifying heats (3 teams would compete to see who made the arena shows)
it all stopped half way through
on runs a medic
bangs about half dozen staples into one of the blokes heads
gives the thumbs up and runs off
race continues, they win and make the final
another qualifier
race is over and one of the lads runs back down the far end and starts looking around for something on the floor, he finds it and runs back off.
talking to the team (think it was davenport) in thier bar after.......hed went back for his finger!!!!!!!!!
he was more gutted about not competing for the rest of the tournament than anything else
used to love going there every year
running out on the arena with 20 odd thousand folk cheering you is not something easily forgotten __________________________________ Hmmmmmmm....the haggis is chunky with this one
