hi all, ive a 1982 Ford A0609, an ex fire brigade truck which is 4 wheel drive.
It has a salisbury 10HA rear axle. or maybe its called a 10HA/DANA 70HD ford type 42??

couple of things, i would like to do is change the crown wheel ration and while its all apart fit an LSD or diff lock, is this possible?

Is anyone here in the know about these axles?

cheers
carl

You could talk to www.imperialengineering.co.uk. or www.mitchells.co.uk or www.ets-uk.co.uk

They used to do axle ratios from 4.88 to 7.17, whether they are still available or what ratio you run i don't know. The Ford A Series was never known for being more than a plodder as vehicles go,so that might limit what you can do to it.

yes me too! when i drove it from the transporter to home about 3 miles down a single country lane it felt like it needed another gear or two. i think it is stuck in low range but have not investigated further (llow/high range leaver stuck)
can you add pictures here?
