Hi All first post on this forum hope it works. I'm thinking of buying a ex utilities mog 2150 the cherry picker type, then strip the back off and have a camper box made and fitted to make a overland camper. The questions are how easy is it to have it re plated to a 7500kg gvw as they are currently 14000kg gvw and my driving licence wont allow me to drive it. Has anyone had any knowledge of how easy it will be to convert and any companies that build camper boxes, ive looked at a few companies that do them but i dont have 100k just for the box. Any info gladly received.

Mark

It's a paper work excersise getting a vehicle re-plated. You just re-register it with the lower weight.

If you get caught driving with an over loaded vehicle compared to your license rights then you've issues.

I've re-classified a 12 tonne bus to a 7.5 before with no issues.

The whole removing springs and changing bump stops, not needed.

try profab in Redditch for camper bodies. They're proper engineers and will custom build to your requirements.

thanks for the info does anyone know the standard unladen weight for a u2150 3.8 mtr wheelbase, i will already need to take my 7.5 ton test as i passed my driving test in 2000. So i don't want to have to go to 17.5 ton as it will cost a fortune. From what ive found on the net i think it should weigh about 5000kg as a pickup.
