|

I have all the data plates...VIN Number etc and lots of numbers, but nothing that corresponds to a date of manufacture. Above the data plates there is another smaller plate with these words on it: WERKINSTAND-SETZUNG DURCHGEFARHT H. INST WERK 800 JULICH DATUM 02 96 So did it go in for a refurb on that date? Documents all say that it was first registered in UK in 2002 and manufactured date 1986 unconfirmed. Any help on how I can confirm how old it is would be appreciated.

When I needed to prove the age my mog I contacted a guy called Derek Owen at Mercedes Benz UK, in Milton Keynes I think. He was very helpfull and within a few days I had letter confirming year of manufacture.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Mike, I,ll try that one, I need absolute proof of date of manufacture for when I take it to Poland. But I,m still intrigued to know what that small plate says.

Hi
Derek Owen retired. Email me your chassis number to stuart.bray@daimler.com I'll see what I can come up with for you.
Regards
Stuart

Thanks Stuart, here is the VIN No: 4351151W131601 Towcester? Know it well, I,m originally a Banbury boy myself and think of that area as gods country. (So what am I doing in Eastern Poland? - living a lot cheaper is the answer!)
