Hi,

I was thinking about joining an off road club. I have been to watch a few AWDC events in the South West of England were I lived, until I moved to Portsoy about 2 years ago. I believe your club is the most local to me;

I have got a Suzuki SJ, but it’s not quite ready to get muddy yet.

Would it be OK for me to watch at a few of your events just to see what you get up to?

If that’s OK, could you give me directions to your next event and let me know who I should contact when I get there?

Many thanks,

Mike Gale.

Hi Mike welcome.

Yep we are the closest and only club really in the north east.

Our next event is near Memsie so its not too far from you. I will PM you with directions.

You are welcome to come along and spectate at your leasure.

Start is 10am but everyone is there for about 9.15-9.30 for signing on and scutineering.

Once you arrive everyone should be signing on at a black defender 110. Just let my mum know your here and have a wander around and make yourself known!

James

Thanks James & Bertie.

I think I will be able to find the event at Memsie on the 15th and thanks for the info.

Look forward to a good day out.

Mike.

He is not such a bad judge then.

The difference from Perth to Drumclog, via the Stirling Glasgow route,

or Perth to Drumclog via the Forth Bridge is 4 miles longer via the Forth.
Currently the Forth bridge route is quicker.

Quicker again if coming via Aberdeen is dont turn off at Forfar (Mcdonalds) to go to Glamis, Coupar angus, New Scone & Perth/Broxden roundabout.
(31 miles, 45 mins minimum)
& If your going into Dundee to Perth thats even further/slower.

Alternately Go to Dundee & over the Tay Bridge,
through Fife to the motorway & via the Forth Road bridge to Clog.
I travel the route weekly.
So Fochabers to Drumclog via Dundee & West Calder is possible in 216 miles
or via Perth-Glasgow 230 miles

OFFROADNICK.
I am 100% sure i will be quicker 'tonight'/this morning. Trust me,Cool
(should count my chickens before my eggs hatch tho.)

I dont do it with a trailer or with some slower vehicles & it can be a route from hell.
But i do it at certain days, times of the week in the right vehicle.
The reason being i know i am going to be breaking the speed limit
when ever possible. (only a little)
& i know the route i cant do that on.
Points mean prizes & i havnt had any for a while, touch wood.

& the average speed limit cameras at the moment mean i have been
the Fife,Mid calder route twice this past week,
& the Perth.Glasgow way only once.
Same times to my destination in Strathaven for me.
The easy direct drive home in traffic is murder bob which ever route.
Once the road works are finished, i will go back to going VIA perth.

Just ready to leave in 20 mins.
3AM, & heading VIA Fife.
Quick quiet blast at this time, without the chance of several Patrol cars parked up just ready for doing a stop between Forfar & Stirling at this time of night.

Job done, 100 dozen still hot bridies & pies delivered to Strathaven.
& now on their way to Fortnum & Mason Cool

116 miles via livingston took 2 hours 15 minutes.
107 miles home via Perth 2 hours 35 minutes.
