We have a Cherokee 4.0 on sequential injection with and underfloor rear mounted tank. This only has a fill capacity of about 57 litres and I would ideally like more.
Now my thoughts were a second vertically mounted toroidal in the back but :-
A) What would I need to buy
B) How would it need to be plumbed in to fill from the existing point
C) ..and if it is higher than the current tank would the liquid gas run down to the lower tank so the fuel level indicator takes the upper into consideration (stays 'full' longer).
In an ideal world I would install the majority of it and pref by a used but good tank. But I don't know what to look for.
Any help gratefully rx'd
Paul

Teed in to fill and supply pipework. Most likely in practice, you'd throw away all the old pipes and use all-new. You must use a tee with one-way valves in the supply side to prevent cross-transfer. You'll probably have to drop the old tank to access the valve. You use a level sender on one tank or the other, and ignore the other one (this works better than it sounds)
Fitting tanks internally requires vapour containment - a sealed space for the valve and pipe joints, connected to the outside world through vent tubes through which the pipes and wires run.
All this is not a small job!

No, the one-way valves prevent this. In practice they should empty fairly evenly.

Hen's teeth. When buying used, check the date code. Tanks certified for 10 years. Check it has an electric outlet shutoff - not required once, but is now. If it hasn't, thats an alarm that it is very old ...

The original installer offered to do the final plumbing in (but didn't give me a quote). I didn't realise there that that much involved but after all that's why forums exist?
Cheers,
Paul
