I have the opportunity through family connections to collect between 40 and 50 THOUSAND litres of WVO from a chain of restaurants. Most are in the London area but all produce an average of 100 litres WVO per week.
They need weekly collections - guaranteed and the oil is free. The basic deal is 1/3 to the collector the rest for me and I can provide IBCs for easy onward transport. If we can grab most of the contract between us all then the deal will increase to 50% to the collectors and the rest to me.
My cousin needs this to be 100% reliable as do I so please pm me if interested.

Intermediate Bulk Container
40-50,000 litres, is that per week, or yearly?
50,000 litres per year works out 1000 litres per week, or 10 restaurants to collect from.
or 500 restaurants if it's weekly. that's a full time job.
how are you going to dispose of 25,000 litres? do you need a license to sell fuel commercially?

per annum.
No licenses required as far as I'm aware but this is all "for personal consumption" which is why a network of individuals is best. My 'fee' is my few thousand litres as it were.

Be carefull, I used to work in catering & whenever we changed the oil in the fryers (couple of times a week) we would run a kettle of water through afterwards in to the oil barrels, rendering it compleatly useless...

oil floats on water - it separates
In any case I'll take my chances - bring it on.

the restaurants will need waste transfer notes - to show they are disposing of the oil in a responsible manner - rather than throwing it down the drain.
more than 2500L fuel per annum is commercial
water does not seperate that easily the oil will need heating to make it drop out.

With respect chaps I know how to make biodiesel and I know what the rules and regs are and I have it all covered. For the record each household can produce and use 2500 litres of biodiesel for road use without need to pay duty or vat however there is no limit for non road use.
Now is anyone actually interested in this or are we simply setting the record wrong on a few things - I have a time limit on this.

When I asked the guy who runs the cafe near where I work he told me a Hungarian collects his waste oil and was supposed to collect each Sunday but lets it stack up for three weeks before collecting. I asked him if he has to prove that he is disposing of the WVO responsibly and he said he didn't. That is in the London Borough Of Southwark.
There was a feature on Anglia News recently about restaurants in Cambridge clogging up the sewers with WVO.
