i have bullbars on the front of my 413 and in places rust has come through making the plastic covering to come off in places.
i want to clean and treat the rust.
but then what do i do in those places.i use the car on the road so i want it to look good so to simply paint those area's i think would look rubbish so should i scrape off all the plastic and spray the whole thing which because of all the gaps in the bull bars due to the shape would i guess take loads of cans.
can anyone suggest something better???

There was an article in one of the landy mags a few years ago that covered this.
As I remember it, you used a stanley knife to cut the coating in a straight line and tidy things up, then sand and clean up the metal.
Once that is done you get some fibreglass matt and resin and coat the metal areas in the fibreglass and leave to set.
Once set you sand it smooth and paint it black. That seals it again and looks good.

Stick it in a bonfire to get the plastic coating off, then weld the repair, dress, and send to the powder coaters.
