Hi guys
Looks Like my 404's batteries have gone.... They are no longer holding charge for more than a few days
I've had a look in the Battery box .... I've got two very different and odd size batteries in there.
I just wondered if any one could tell me what the recommend battery for a 404.1 Unimog with a standard M180 engine is????
Cheers
Tom

Thanks for your help.
I basically have no knowledge of batteries; at all !!
I've taken them out of my 404.1 and found they weren't mounted down and even worse that the two positive terminals didn't even have any Insolation
(a big hit and I suspect they could both short out on the top of the battery box)
Before I look at making some mounts I first need to buy the correct batteries, as I am aware they come in different sizes
This is what I took out.
The white battery had no specific specification. The red one had the following information on it:
12V
47AH
260A (FN)
As Said ... I don't have a clue what I should be buying to replace them.
Could anyone help me out?
! I need it !
Any examples of what you guys have used would also help.
Cheers
Tom

Hi Tom,
Standard fitment for the 404 is a pair of 12volt 45ah batteries. Most batteries (in UK) have have a type number.
I fitted two type 063 (12volt 45ah) batteries to my mog over a year ago and they have been fine, even when not used for a few months at a time. The 063 is a really common battery, not expensive and you can get them anywhere.
hope this helps
Mike
