I decided the bike was long overdue an oil change and judging by the colour of what I drained out of it I'm probably right!

Book recommends 10W40 but says 10W50 is OK. It was only after I drained it that I realised I only had 10W50 so used that.

Unfortunately I only had about 1.9l and engine takes 2.3l so I topped the 10w50 up with 5W30 synthetic.

Question is will it be OK or should I change it?

I think the mixture will be OK and probably less harmful that the oil change being "long overdue". I find that good clean oil makes a big difference to running, performance and fuel economy. Also, frequent oil changes are cheaper than big end and bearing repairs.

I'm not too concerned about the 2 different viscosities but is it OK to mix mineral and synthetic?

Wot Terrence said about semi synth. Many car manufacturers have managed to increase the service/oil change interval by using semi synth.
