We've just taken the (new to us) Mog on it's first long outing - a 6 hour return trip to see the guy who's going to build the camper body for us.
The cab comfort leaves room for improvement - particularly the noise levels and the passenger seat - being that we're going to be on the road in it for a year, we'd better do something about this now - otherwise I'll be going by myself!

Has anyone any experience of fitting seats out of another vehicle - any recommendations? Anyone successfully quietened the cab? What's best - an engine blanket, cab liner or simply ear plugs?!

Thanks,

Ian

My U1000 has the Atkinson Vos sound deadening kit fitted. It was already fitted when we bought the vehicle so cannot comment on pre fit noise. It is not a bad place to be in all honesty. My wife says the double passenger seat is pretty comfortable. It has the dual seat(ours is left hand drive) and is standard cloth trim.I did change my driver's seat to a leather subaru legacy item.It was a pretty straight forward fit, but we did weld a spacer to the runners to raise it to my preferred position. All I'll suggest is measure many times!I suspect most "car" seats will have quite a tall base, and may interfere with your leg and the steering wheel.Subaru and Saab seats are notoriously thin, and also used by the VW camper boys who have the same issues. We did a trip to Wales and back last year and it was absolutely fine.
Good luck!
