just gatherin together the stuff to do my second twin tanker and was wondering is it ok to use copper pipe and fittings in the fuel system??

not really paul the FFA content of the WVO will corrode the pipe and it goes rancid very quickly, especially if warm.

Aluminum is fine though.

HDPE is great but not if over 60 deg c.

some people have copper heat exchangers and they work okay but the chemistry is definately wrong.

Same i have brass tank connectors on my waste oil dump and they are all green and slimey.

you could build it all in copper and have it electroplated .

My drums have brass tap too - Fine if you don't mind a few ml of green oil on first opening Laughing

pipework in fuel hose

connectores in HDPE. or anodised aluminium.
