As I already mentioned, I have a white 1990 Niva 1600. However today I just bought a red 1995 Niva 1.7 with Weber Carb. I will show the pics when I can.
The guy I bought it from also gave me a complete 1986 Niva 1600 as spares. It is actually in quite passable condition itself, and could possibly be fixed up to be roadworthy. I dont have the space to store this car, so I will have to strip it down as much as I can and scrap the rest. What parts are worth keeping?

Build some nice sturdy shelves and tear everything off. If stored carefully, you can cram pretty much all the drivetrain, suspension and anything in the engine bay (other than block/sump which you won't need) into a shed corner.
Give it all a good oiling before you put it away and cover with an embarrassing 70's curtain.
The stuff that really takes up room is the chassis, seats and wheels. If you break any of those please post pics!
Even if you don't use most of it, you'll have Niva owning mates who will love you. On that note, where in Australia are you? I could use a rear prop shaft.

Seems such a waste to part it up. I might see just how much work I need to do to it before I decide for certain. Got to trailer it to my house first.
I live about 2 hours North of Sydney, near Newcastle in NSW.

If you know someone who would take care of it then give it away. However, if you got it for free and it isn't roadworthy, you won't sell it for much.
The first time you bust a cv, uni-joint, transverse arm, valve ... or anything else that seems small, you'll save hours of hunting for a replacement.

Ive got my spare one parked indefinetly in the field of my crazy mechanic
Up to now ive changed my gearbox, and stripped a lot of removable things in case they get nicked (highly unlikely but you never know)
