Does anyone know what the torque wrench setting should be for the nuts that hold the fuel injector clamps in place on a 110 200TDI? I can't find it in the manual and something tells me you could do some serious damage getting it wrong. Thanks in advance. Smile

I wouldn't know either. Not in all the years I've worked on diesel engines have I been asked or have asked that question.
Common sense with a short spanner.

From the Haynes manual:

Fuel injector clamp plate nuts (200 and 300 TDi engines) 25 NM 18 lbf ft.

But as Mike says, common sense dictates they don't need a 3/4" breaker bar on them. Use copper grease on the sides of the injector to help it seal.
We've found on some of our Iveco's, re-fitted injectors occasionally wouldn't seal right and there would be a put put put put from the leaking injector whilst it runs. We find a smudge of copper grease around the sides of the injector helps it seal, after a short drive they seal themselves.

Thanks that's very helpful - I did notice one of them was chuffing first time around, but didn't want to overdo tightening it up further.

according to what i read torque would be around 18-22 ft-lb.
by the way, i'm planning to rebuild my engine and looking to buy a new torque wrench. Anyone can suggest me on this list, the best torque wrench for this job when it comes to
price and durability. Thanks in advance.
