Quick survey of Double Cab pick ups
So what type of Double cab do you have and what kind of MPG do you get and what sort of driving (town motor way)

My Tincan is an import oldie with a 2.7 Td engine.
75Mph on the motorway around 20 to a gallon, 55Mph around 35 to the gallon.
Town driving I estimate around 25 mpg, hard to work out cause the trip meter is in Kms, and the speedo reads 12Mph high all the time.
Still the most versatile vehicle I have ever owned.

Sick of the disco - Wish I had bought a manual rather than the Auto.
Planning on going back to a double cab better for the dogs as well.
Just looking for something that maybe a wee bit better than the auto disco on fuel as my old nivara was terrible

my 08 navara does 26mpg average which is town, country and motorway miles, it does drop off if you drive it above 85mph. it is never driven slowly and is aways loaded with around 400kg
towing is about 20mpg with 2tonnes behind it at the same speeds as without the trailer!
for its first 500miles i tried to drive like a old woman and it did 35mpg average

07 plate (mk3) 2.5td 5 speed manual ford 4x4 ranger. Slow driving 36mpg, fast towing in strong winds 24mpg, normal driving 30 - 33mpg
52 plate (mk1) 2.5td 5 speed manual ford 4x4 ranger average 27mpg.
56 plate 2.5td 6 speed manual nissan navara average 35mpg
I find speed is as much of a fuel killer than load

isuzu tfs based on the old trooper with the 2.8td. i reckon a good 35mpg if driven carefully but the gearing is far too low so i need bigger tyres.
my old trooper (same car but a little heavier) gave 32mpg towing my heavy diesel sammy on a knackered and heavy trailer and about 38mpg driven carefully with no load.
running on veg oil mix too.

5km takes 1litre
Therefore 5 multiplied by 4.54 takes 1 gallon
divide by 8, multiply by 5 and we get 14.2mpg
Which means----
You need something a bit more frugal!

06 Navara does around 30MPG all the time with a mix of driving.
Between 22 and 25 when towing depending on load
Really pleased with that - don't really go easy on it either!!

Isuzu TFS, import on a 51 plate (again like the Vauxhall Brava) but 3.1TD. Average 25mpg around a rural town, hardly nursed it. Never really did enough motorway miles to warrant working it out. Towing 2 horses locally dropped it to a little below 20mpg driven gently seeing as it was a live load.
Chopped it in against a V8 auto disco
