|
|
|
I'm going to take a pilgrimage to modelsport uk to pick up an ax10 and associated bits.
I don't much fancy the body shell that comes with them though. Being a 1:10 scale does that mean that *any* 1:10 shell will fit or do you have to buy specific axial shells? (which seem to be limited)
I've seen a photo of someone who bolted a new bright g4 shell onto their axial but I imagine you'd need to make a custom mount?
(I just so happen to have a spare new bright g4 shell)
I realise you don't want any old shell on there due to altering COG etc...
merry christmas all!

There is a bunch of AX10 specific shells coming from Proline in the next couple of weeks/months...
otherwise you can adapt the other 1:10 shells..

Doesn't the Ax10 use a lexan body shell, therefore weigths not much so mounting a little higher woun't have much effect on CofG unless you try fitting a much heavier body shell.
The ax-10 mounts are a horivontal, so provided a bodyshell is of suitable width and wheelbase (otherwise it would just look odd) then it should be too difficult to fit. The standard mounts look to be fixed width, but variable width ones (in all maner of bling) are availible.

Well ultimately I'd like to get my hands on a 1:10 Hilux shell to do a trayback conversion with and put some sort of mini cage on. I've seen a few pics of these on the net and I think they look great. I'm just struggling to find somewhere to get one from!

I just fitted the defender 110 pickup body from Kamtec (see the pic on Difflock Mag #.
I had to extend the 4 body mounts and trim it quite a bit to allow the tyres to fit.
sorry but I have to keep the installation pictures and explanation for Difflock Mag #9..
But.. I can say that it looks great....

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I was searching on google for a Vitara bodyshell for a tl01 chassis (and a new shell for my tt01 chassis) and bizarrely came across this thread.
Are these shells still available, or does anyone know where I can find one? Would like a LWB shell, but all I have been able to find is the pikes peak escudo shell.

It has been a while for this thread hasn't it!
I'd get over to the UKRCRC forum for detailed questions on specific shells - the lads on there will have the information you need mate!
