Saved this trailer from the scrap man, looks good behind the Mog! It is a Brockhouse 2nd WW I think? There is reference to it as the chassis for the UAX project on Google.

It has 4 wheel hydraulic brakes which I want to link up, anyone done much with trailer brakes? I have both air and hydraulic on the unit, but how do you proportion it so they bith pull together?

I know nowt about your brake problems, sorry.

I am intrigued by the suspension on the trailer, I have just sat here for 15 minutes and I can`t figure out what bits move Question

And, are the chassis rails slightly curved on purpose, is it just the photo and they are straight or have they took some punishment and been bent Question

Rusty owd trailer has me more interested than 90% of the truck builds on here ! Laughing

PS, how does it steer?

The trailer chassis is narrow at the front and wide at the rear, making it look out of shape in the pictures. The whole front end/front axle turns on a pivot.

Not sure about the other bits.

Paul

I agree, what an interesting find!

Looks like the suspension is based on torsion bars (torque tubes - rather appropriate for a Mog). Please can we have some more pics.

The chassis rails are deliberatly stepped in at the front. The steering is turntable on a greased ring. The suspension is indeed torsion bar but oddly on each "axle" one arm hinges forward and one backward...so as the weight goes on the wheels move out of line!!

Look at UAX project on Google - Its right! I was worried about the lack of shockers - but then I thought indispension units often dont have them!
