When Rizla 2 was first built as a Formula car i had a LS1 chevy engine in it but after a few roll cage problems i sold it to a mate in Norway, he has taken it and put in his formula car and added a huge turbo Cool in the rear

He has said i can test it on the 12th april when we go out to pick our team captains new proto car a rear steer spider looking car on 42's and to drop off a lexus engine or 2

his first start up - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcuUlPKmQgM&feature=youtu.be

whats the reasoning behind the rear turbo, wouldn't there be a loss of pressure or backpressure or something for such a distance for the air to travel? sounds amazing though Razz

a lot of the big Derv rigs in america run a large turbo quite far down the exhaust system, especially when you dont require a stupid amount of boost, works just fine, possibly even a little better as temperatures are lower that far away from the manifold, meaning you can get away with a smaller IC, etc etc, so its swings and roundabouts with regards to pressure, etc.

How can we be sure it was suitably tested if there's no pictures or video to prove it? Laughing

Thats better Smile

Is the new proto car based on a production vehicle chassis or is it custom bent box section chassis? It looks a bit like an SJ chassis, but constant width.

Hiya Danny - There's going to be 2 practice rounds over here first - think one at Avon Dassett and the other at Slindon - nr Chichester on the south coast , the Eurotrial website has got info on it but if you need more let me know Smile
Should be a good size team going this year - but we need a few more RTV type cars for the original and standard classes - if you fancy it come along to the practice days - will put dates up as soon as i know them

With Your buggy the tyres would have to be 37" for pro-mod as there's a 3m height rule - but you could go proto with the big ones Laughing but wrangler would fit in the standard class ? would have to see them to fit you in the right class - or just come watch again Cool

Bit of a update - My mate Pal got 3rd place with his debut Formula race and my old engine went real well Cool

Rizla 1 - as the weather has been a bit rubbish had chance to try to finish Tim's car and going to try to get it done for the Eurotrial event at the end of this month - not much more to do now but has been a lot of work just to add a passenger seat -

Hi Danny - back now was a great trial and good result for the GB team Bob took 5th in pro-mod with Rizla 2 and me well rolled 3 times the one you saw on u-tube was a gentle one and i did the the same the day before in the same gate Embarassed what a prat - was a good score before them - the 3rd roll was a huge roll on a monster hill section but managed to drive out of it half way down much to the crowds delight - the guy just before me had a night in hospital rolling in the same place, snapped his portal landy chassis clean in half a total right off with bend cage as well. hope the red cross man sends me the pics of my roll !!

I came 12th at end with Richard N 13th and Birdy 14th in pro-mod

Just before i got failed a Scrutineering for the car being far to loud Cool amazing what a baked bean with 5 holes in it - sorted and through

Well done team gb

I am so gutted that I couldnt come this year. I believe its in italy next year. Im going to start planning now for going to that one. Thinking of dropping it into the middle of a holiday. If the buggy is finished might even bring it along.

Are there any videos of your big roll?

Danny
