Update time
My Rizla 1 car was sold to a lucky 16 year old for i think playdays
I have just got the new car back in the workshop ready for some more building - tyres are near ordered from the states and the shock hoops have arrived so they will be fitted and air shox will go on.
WANTED - 10x15 rims - to cut up for the new wheels anybody ?
We bought an old Muddler - class 1 trial car so that taken my time getting that up to spec ready for Eurotrial It's not going to win any prizes but it will be a laugh trying.
Thought we would take it out for it's first test !!! glad i never painted the bonnet ??

Aha, then you may well have met Richard Oakley. He trials with us (SCOR) down here and we got talking about the EuroTrial. I believe he is going and we got to talking and I think we ended up discussing you......hard to tell when I'm not sure of your name and "Rizla1" doesn't mean much to non-Difflock people
I am the Trials Sec for SCOR and I expect you will fit into our Class 2 motors (assuming you don't have anything too silly on that thing ) if you fancy a club trial at any time.

Don't forget his bro Mick, is he not going to Euro? Is young Richard Nicolson going?

Managed to grab a few hours on the truck the new seat arrived so i got that mounted - i went for there intermediate seat as it seems to have more padding which should be better for when it gets rough .
I also started mocking up the pedalbox and pedals with a 4mm side just in case the flexplate or gearbox lets go
It's a standard range rover pedalbox chopped about and made to fit .
I have also been buying The tyres are on a slow journey from the states as is a fuel cell and other bits from Summit racing.
The hoops for the shocks are here and waiting for the 16 brackets to be made so i can fit them - headers are also bought a should be here in the next few days but they will need modifying to fit where i need them to go.
And i just can't believe how much this was -
Hope to crack on with as the bits arrive

Pedalbox and seat mounts are now all welded up and pedals re-set in the right place - so i thought i would have a go at the rims
With the tyres being 2 ft wide - and 14" wide rims are the widest for a landrover that i know of , we have to set to with a grinder and make some
First i made up this thing just so i can spin the wheels to cut/grind/weld
Just an old hub welded to a lump of 4x2 box - works a treat
Then i got hold of a couple of sets of rims one set was an old crappy 14" wide set and Wayne of here sold me a 10" wide set and the plan was to cut an shut them together a bit like this.
Just to see the difference starting with a standard 7x15 rim right up to my new rim which is 18x15 plus add another inch when i put on the beadlocks going to sandblast / powdercoat or spray
Just got to weld them round and hope they don't leak ??

I thought i would have a crack at mounting the shox's this morning so i cut up some 6mm plate and made 16 brackets - 4 per shox
I mocked up the the hoops with the shox but i think i'm going to change them again - think i need to lay the hoop outwards more - so to make the shox sit straight and also giving more room for the bonnet.
also i was hopeing that the shox tops would sit under the wing tops but as you see there to long and stick up a tad
Mr Parcelforce came today with goodies from Summit in the states
An 8 gallon - plastic fuel cell which is foam filled - should do nice
Also made a cock up with my order and only bought one header flange will have to get me card out again to get the other side
