Symptons of a fuel pump oil leak can include:

Excellent post Tramp. You've described my symptoms exactly, so that's another job that needs doing Is it as easy as they say to remove the old pump?

in a word yes, remove the petrol lines, and then remove x2 12mm nuts with a deep reach socket, and bingo its off, replacement is reversal of disassembly as haynes always put it so well,
if you dont mind losing abit of oil you can live with it, or there is a quick easy bodge that will get you away for a while that involves putting small self tapping screws (with a touch of sealent) in the breather holes. this stops the oil leaking but I cant imagine it is good for the pump as the diaphram will be operating against the pressure in the now sealed vessel

Excellent writeup.
Will add it to the stickies if thats ok.
as an aside - can you get rebuild kits for your new pump?
worth finding out and keeping one in stock?

Isn't the fuel pump like the water pump? When it leaks it a sign to change it? I always thought that it was like a warning sign that it was worn out.
