I'll be there on Sunday to compete with my discovery. I've only done RTV's so far so looking forward to something new.
Cheers,
Malcolm

Thanks James. I have a fire extinguisher but will need to get a first aid kit. Also need to secure my tool box somehow.
Is there any size requirement for the extinguisher or required list for the contents of the first aid kit?
Thanks
Malcolm

No size requirement for your extinguisher and just a basic first aid kit is fine, my first aid kit is a small one for going on your belt.

As Hugh as said there are no size requirements.
As for tool boxes, spare tyres etc they can be left at the control where we sign on.

Hugh,
I've still got to finish my truck (I'm fitting some Land Rover bits which is never a good idea, LOL!), but hoping to be finished by Saturday morning.
However, I dont think you will fit inside my wee zook. However if I lash an old rocking chair in the pick up bay (in a Hillybilly style), could you travel in that?

I'm OK for setting up Saturday and hopefully taking part Sunday. I'm getting some worrying noises from the transmission at the moment.
What time do we need to be there?

Based upon the e-mails and posts on Difflock, for the set-up on Saturday I believe we have:
Phil (+ motor - if finished!)
Stew + motor
Allan + motor
Myself
Ivor (+ motor if bits arrive)
Terry McK
Fred + motor
Adam + motor? (from Difflock)
Craig brothers + motor
Colin?
Brian?
If anyone else can make it on Saturday morning then you are more than welcome to help - the more the merrier - and a free mornings offroading!
Proposal is to meet at the entrance at 09:00 on Saturday which should result is a finish time of about 12:00 latest (based upon previous experience). If you are likely to be arriving later than that then please phone me or someone else on the above list. Mobile numbers are in the club mag.
The only significant changes from the last event are that there will be 8 punches per sector and the sector boundaries have been redrawn so that the areas are more similar in size.
By separate e-mail, Lord Sloss of Ashentilly will issue the 'Final Supplementary Regulations' to the club membership. If you don't receive it then it means you have given the club the wrong or out of date e-mail details.
I have the Potarch 'box' and will make sure we have all the stuff available on Saturday morning.
See you there.

The Rules & Regs went out this evening to all Members registered on my Contacts.
I've had a few bounces already - from inbox full to too many recipients - not my problems!
If you don't get it then Email me with a revised Email Address.

If you only want to keep to the good tracks then road tyres will do however there are not many good tracks and most of it is open forest.
So if you want any offroad driving then you should take the XZL's and if you are still struggling for grip then Sloss will tow you the rest of the way - for a nominal charge of course (+callout charge+VAT+etc.)!

Resent to James, Tony and Kevin....
Hope it makes it this time.
However Rules are basically the same as last Orienteering Event.
Finish time is 15:30 to allow clear up time while it's still lightish.

We successfully set up 32 punches today in four sectors so lets hope we get a good turnout for the event tomorrow which promises to be a cracker.
Thanks to all those who turned up today to help.

If you intend coming to the Orienteering Event please be aware that Banchory High Street will be closed from 09:00 to 10:30 on Sunday, 9th for a Rembrance Day Parade.

What a cracker of an event. Even the weather was great albeit a bit cold. For some reason there were a lot more breakdowns than we usaully see with sheared steering bars, broken suspension (x2), burst tyres, broken CV to name but a few of the problems however at least everyone was still smiling at the end of the event.
Anyway the important bit - the results:
1st = Dennis/Adams 52points
2nd = Mann/Gray 40
3rd = Maclurg/McKinnon 35
4th = Fraser/Goulding 30
5th = Atkinson/Craig 18
6th = Goldsman/Beatie 17
7th = Kennedy/Carruthers 14
8th = Hillerby/Clement & MacLeod/Birt 13
10th = McErlean/O'Mahony 9
11th = Jamieson/Sheard 0 (not back in time to score)
Sorry but only drivers surname names listed.
My thanks to everyone who helped me set the event up yesterday, do the admin today and cleared up afterwards and also to Sloss for driving me around all day.
Ken

Surely nobody would be daft enough to use 3mm steel for critical suspension mount fabrication!!!!

s special thanks to the Club Sloss and Ken etc , for letting me be there, A crackin couple of days, stunning site, clockwork event planning and teamwork. Without exaggeration one of the best club events ive seen. Truely an example of how to run event.
the marshall were all enthused and the competitors all appreciated their efforts.
As a novice orieneteer i was coached and fully understood exactly what was expected of me, fully briefed and officiated, i felt like i was being properly looked after.
the cammaraderie was brilliant.
All the members who i spoke to were very hospitable and a special thanks to Ivor and Ewan for the bruises ( LOL) and the wee tug ooot the hole and steve for the Nav seat on Sunday
Many thanks again peeps i wish you all continued sucess for future events keep up the good work.
Terence
