Hi you lot, you probably don’t know or remember me, but a few years ago I was a member or BORDC. I made it to a couple of events and watched, was going to perp my Defender for the off roading stuff, but bambi killed my Capri and I could not afford the Defender getting injured while playing.
The Capri eventually went to a good home to be used for bits, as mechanically it was good and the rear end was still in one piece, a rarity for Capri’s!
Anyway, I have a Discovery for sale.
I posted it in the Difflock “for sale” board, bit it quickly got swamped by other ads from round the country.
Below is the text.
Hopefully it covers all questions.
Scrap merchants are offering £100 to £150 per ton for cars delivered, but I just can’t do it!
I would prefer it went to a good home.
So, make me an offer and come and collect.
Cheers
Dave
For sale, Discovery 200tdis, 5 door, K reg, 1 owner from new (me).
Location, Aberdeenshire near Alford.
It has been sorn’d for a couple of years, I was working abroad and ‘the boss’ has a 110.
I was going to do it up, but life is too busy.
I started the engine with no problems six months ago, but tried to start it last weekend and failed.
Things work knowing:
It was the ‘s’ model, so it came with lots of bits for that year.
Scorpion Racing rock sliders fitted.
Copy of workshop manual / parts list.
Has a Landrover roof rack, but it has been welded. Has the ski rack attachment for the roof rack.
Windscreen is cracked.
It failed the mot, needed inner wings and some welding.
The central locking on one of the doors was sticking.
With the engine going I was going to ask for £750 from Joe Blogs, but I can be bothered with advertising it to Joe and would rather keep the hassle to a minimum and sell to someone that knows Landrovers. They will know more about it than me (that is not hard) so the quantity of questions will be less and hopefully more relevant than Joe the tyre kicker and his Ned mate.
The first sensible offer with cash thrust into my hand gets it.

The battery is completely u/s
When a working battery was connected, the engine started first time and sounded great.
Price now £350
A great chance to get a working engine, gearbox, axels, wheels, suspension etc for less than the price of a new set of decent tyres.
