A Porsche Cayenne!!! Wonder how well it drove in the sand?
All those electronic traction aids new cars come with really take all the fun out of offroading... Well, that's my personal opinion...
Nice pics indeed;

Looks like a lot of fun and your beaches are so wide.
The beaches where I live are narrow and only driveable in summer tides.
Did everyone let their tyres down because that sand does not look too soft so I am surprised they got bogged.
Most 4wd can reverse when the stop going forward on beach sand

Most people did not let their tires down. There was no support to get them back at the right pressure.
The sand was a little wet so not that soft, it rained the whole week before. But the "hills" were really soft, so we got stuck there.
another reason was tirechoise. Most of us only have MT tires. We are only 1 day allowed on the beach, it is too expensive to buy an extra set sand tires for for 1 day fun. Most time we spend in the mud. And the mt tires are really good to dig holes .

10/10 for the Porsche Cayenne driver to have a go I think! So who let's you on the beach then, and why is it only 1 day a year? I actually think it's a good idea, open the beaches 1 day a year, the councils can use their diggers and keep us 4x4 owners happy for once!

Normally the beach is closed for motorvehicles, that is the law. As simple as that. Normally there are many pedestrians on the beach.
The local 4X4-club has to ask permission to the governement for the event.
The amount of cars is strictly limited, I think it has all to do with oil spilling, fuel spilling, leaving garbage and stuff like that.

Oh well I guess I am lucky then as we have 10000klms of coast in West Aust and all of it can be driven except near towns or cities
Here is some pics I took last week 800 klms south
http://www.difflock.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2960
And some I took 2600 klm north

nice pics and scenery you have there.
Here in belgium (where i live) there is no beach left that is not near a city An event like we had is out off discussion.
The event was in the netherlands. There is some beach left not near city's. But also closed to motorvehicels except for special occasions.
