I have just found a source for 100+ litres of oil per week for around 40p litre, is it worth having at this price? How long will it take to filter and how long has it got to stand? How much will I waste? will it be able to mix at 50/50 with derv or will I need to make mods like heated filters etc? I run the 2.8Pajero and an oldish fiat ducato 2.8td van, need to save money somewhere, spending £200 a week on derv. cheers Dale.

I have paid 42 ppl for wvo in the past but it was very clean. It came from a Jewish retirement home where the oil was used once then removed.
I normally pay about 20 ppl for reasonable quality oil.Filtering is not hard just a bit messy.I made some room in my shed and set up 3 filter socks at 25,10 and 5 microns.
I've not had any problems to date and all I needed was 3 filter socks,7 buckets,2 funnels and a watering can to get started.
I use the tallow from the filter bags mixed with wood shavings on my coal fire in the winter !

Why don't you hang the filter bags inside each other? then you only have to handle the oil once....
