Hi Peter,
Out of my own curiosity and an enquiry by someone else to me, what are the Landrover Bearings from, a Defender or a Series?
King pin/swivel pin lower bearing conversion kit ~£75 to be confirmed
comes complete with 2 x bearing cups,
2 x spacers and
2 x OE quality bearings
You will need to find your own shims

Who's Peter???
The bearings are, apparently the same from series3 to late Defenders LR code 606 666. The conversion kit is £69.99 and includes 2 complete bearings.

I have just been answering a query about your KIT and it was another question that came up. I am giving it a plug when I can.

Hallo Richard,
just checked my original king pin bearings. There is a lot of air.
So I should change the king pin bearing.
Could you please explain how the king pin conversion works.
If it is not to difficult I could do this on my own.
Thanks
Cheers
Uli

Uli
Test the bearings by jacking the axle up and pulling the hub in and out. There should almost no play.
Replacement is pretty easy:
Support the hub
remove the bottom grease cover (4 bolts) then clean and degrease ready to refit.
undo the 24mm nut (bolt head is behind the knuckle) and remove everything you can find - inc shims, washers, metal mushroom shaped bearing carrier and lift bolt out
Using a big screwdriver lever out the bearing itself (black Bakelite cup), clean and degrease the whole area.
Put the new bearing race into the bearing cup and rest the new bearing on top (after greasing).
Place the spacer on top of the bearing and slide the whole assembly over teh bolt and using a new flat washer (not included) tighten up until there is only slight movement in the bearing.

Hallo Richard,
thank you for the description.
Do you have to remove the wheel carrier from the axle to mount the Kit ?
Cheers
Uli

Hi Richard,
the Kit is purchased.
Can you tell me the measurements of the not included flat washer.
Are that the washers you need to adjust the bearing play ?
Thank you
cheers
Uli

Hi Richard,
We mounded the portal axles unter our Land Rover. Now we want our King pin/swivel pin replaced and we are looking for a bearing conversion kit.
Do you supply them?
Regards, Rob from Holland

I haven't had a TGB for nearly 7 years!
I got them from Jez at house of flying spanners, more than that I can't help.
