Get back to the topic, how to fix your broken dome or dimmer switch. When fixing your car's interior lights, it is recommended to start repairing the easiest light: the dome or dimmer lights. (true for every car from Suzuki, Jeep, Toyota, etc)
Usually, the root cause of this issue is when other people use a dimmer switch or dome light other than the driver. It will prevent the interior lights of your car from lighting when you get inside your vehicle. It all depends on the wiring and the kind of switch your inner lights have. It may be necessary to press different switch combinations to allow the lights to turn on.
Generally, you can start by spinning the dimmer (if there is one) and try to shift it in the opposite directions. There are situations in which when you constantly turn the dimmer in one direction, you click to show either the on or off state.
When you move your indoor light button in various places and directions, you can inspect your map light, dome light and other indoor lights in conjunction with their respective switches.
If this doesn't work on your lighting systems, most likely you're dealing with a real failure somewhere else.
