How long does it take for the injector pump to get up to temperature?
Or the water to run the heat exchanger?

yer thats what i thought ?
so within 1-2 seconds (even before the engine starts ) the bores would be 80oc ( hot enough for svo ? )
is that right ?
oil is so black in a derv because unburn fuel goes into the sump ? so getting some veg in the sump would be normal even heating it to 80oc ? just that veg will contaminate oil (hence im changing at 3000mls £10)

just thinking Confused

my car has .........
inline heater 80oc in seconds
injector lines are also heated to 80oc in seconds
bores are 80oc in seconds
so this is why i think its ok to use svo

IM FITTING A FUEL TEMP GAUGE N THE RETURN LINE SO I CAN TELL HOW LONG ITS TAKING FOR THE RETURN TO ALSO HIT 80oc ? tryed with my hand and its defo hot in seconds but havent used a temp gauge yet ?

what u think ?? ta

Harper you are not listening to us my friend.

the cold oil cools everything the inline heaters havent got sufficient energy to heat all the oil to temp.

what about all the cold air rushing into the engine bay at speed, cold starts do most of the damage.

I admire your pioneering spirit and have a go attitude , trust us, it will die.

veg in the sump oil will polymerise and kill the bearings,

throw some oil ( cold ) into an incredible hot frying pan and see what happens...

the charred remnants stick to the bores and gum up the rings, bore wear and eventual death.

carbon turns the oil black

twin tank it .

yes i do go on but i dont understand ?
im heating the oil before the pump 80oc
heating the lines to 80oc after the pump to the head
yes the oil in the pump would be cold for a few seconds then it would be 80oc as needed
the bores at 80oc if not more in seconds
what differnce would cold air have todo with an electric heater ? it more likey to cool the heat exchanger that you have fitted ?
im fitting a temp gauge next week so if thats at 80oc in seconds and stays at 80oc allday then this system is working in my eyes ??
i killed my musso didnt heat anything it died ...
but my car is heated as described above still sound sweet, powerfull, smooth normal puff off smoke cold starting 100,000+ on this set-up ?
if i changed the car i would probly twin tank it but this is honestly working as it is ? Confused Confused
by the way its a mercedes 300d
I KNOW IM NOT CONVINCING YOU LADS ?? LOL
HAS ANYBODY GOT A FUEL TEMP FITTED TO THERE TWIN TANK SET-UP ?? JUST TO SEE WHAT TEMP THERE FUEL IS RETURNING TO THE TANK AT ?? AND TO SEE WHEN THE FUEL HITS 80oc after start-up ?
cheers Laughing

fuel doesnt return to the tank with a twin tank setup it stays in the loop at engine coolant temp... my heat exchanger is coolant temp allways.

so is fuel flter , and changeover valves. except on startup when im running biodeisel.

cold oil will be present in any system left overnight. unless you have a webasto or eber thingie ( sp )
